A small, family-run B&B set in an apartment building, right by Castel Sant'Angelo and an easy walk from the Vatican, the Pantheon and Piazza Navona.
About
Roma Dei Papi B&B occupies the middle entrance of a large apartment building in Piazza Adriana, a short walk from Castel Sant'Angelo. It's a small, family-run business; guests regularly mention easy walking access to the Vatican, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Piazza Cavour, as well as Lepanto metro station.
Rooms are cleaned daily and come with desks, safes, mini-bars, flat-screen TVs, soundproofing and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is a consistent highlight — fresh croissants, pastries, cheese and yoghurt with coffee — and the staff are repeatedly described as friendly and helpful. The main practical caveat is the fixed 14:00–20:00 check-in window.

8.9Verified guest“A wonderful central location close to the Vatican, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and plenty of Rome's monuments, shops and restaurants — the Palazzo is about 2 km away. The room was large, with central heating, a flat-screen TV and a writing desk, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious: cheese, buns, yoghurts and freshly made restaurant food.”
8.9Verified guest“Every morning the smell of fresh pastries filled the air, and the quiet surroundings made for restful nights even though the main sights are just steps away.”
8.9Verified guest“A superb location — literally by Castel Sant'Angelo and a two-minute walk from Piazza Cavour, where many buses stop. The small, family-run property has good-size rooms with comfortable beds, a desk and a small fridge/minibar, plus a large bathroom with a shower niche that wasn't too big but worked well for us. Rooms were cleaned every day and the safe was useful. Owner Stefano was extremely nice, helpful and friendly, as was one of the breakfast staff; the rest of the reception team were friendly and helpful too. We heard no noise from other rooms, though reception voices could carry if they spoke loudly on the phone — not a problem for us. The entrance is in a courtyard that is locked at night and on Sundays; you ring the bell and the gate and front door are opened. Two tips: take the shuttle bus from Fiumicino airport rather than the train to Termini or Trastevere — it stops by Piazza Cavour, about two minutes from the hotel, and takes about 50 minutes. Also, Google Maps shows the wrong location: the address is on the upper right side of the pentagon that is Piazza Adriana, not the left. A sign on the pavement marks the spot, and you'll find the B&B in the middle entrance of what looks like a large apartment building. All in all, great value for money — we'd stay again in a heartbeat.”

The bottom line
A small, family-run B&B in a genuinely central spot, with high guest scores for staff, rooms, facilities and breakfast. The fixed check-in window and a lower comfort score are the only real caveats.
